Furious Maximizes Customer Uptime and Optimizes Operations with Modality's Cloud Management Service for AWS

Founded in 2013, Furious gives sellers of TV and Video advertising broader and deeper visibility into their advertising business. Since it was founded, Furious has collected data from hundreds of media companies to develop forecasting, pricing and inventory allocation algorithms that help them to optimize their advertising portfolios across multiple channels, platforms and devices.

The company’s flagship product, PROPHET, is an enterprise-level, resource-planning platform for media companies that uses data science and machine learning to provide highly-accurate forecasts for optimizing revenue and yield, automating workflows, and increasing operational and inventory efficiency.

The Challenges

The media industry is characterized by a high level of complexity, data-sensitivity and the need for constant uptime with minimal disruptions. This means that as a data-powered analytics and forecasting company for this industry, Furious is committed to maximizing uptime for its customers and to meeting stringent SLAs that ensure business continuity.

Based on this commitment, Furious decided to outsource the management of its AWS cloud environment to ensure 24/7/365 support and availability. Following a recommendation from the company’s Amazon account manager, Hillel Rom, the CTO and Founder of Furious, reached out to Modality and since then, Modality has been providing Furious with end-to-end cloud management services that easily scale as the company’s customer base grows.

The Solution

Modality provides Furious with a comprehensive, 24/7/365 cloud management service that includes a cloud management platform, cloud engineering services for immediate response to critical alerts, and on-demand DevOps services.

Modality began with an onboarding process that involved an in-depth discovery of Furious’ existing cloud environment in order to map out its business-critical resources and then calibrate the Modality platform accordingly. Once this was complete and the platform was ready, Modality transitioned into its continuous cloud management service, which includes ongoing incident management, full secure access to its cloud management platform, proactive update management, backup management, monitoring and logging, and more.

More recently, Modality initiated in-depth cost optimization, which included automation of spot instance provisioning with Terraform, disk cost optimization, and more. In addition, Furious uses Modality’s on-demand DevOps services and expert consulting services as required.
